Reno, NV (Sports Network) - Behind a career-high 35 points from Malik Story,
the Nevada Wolf Pack were able to outlast the Yale Bulldogs, 85-75, in non-
conference action at Lawlor Events Center.
Story bested his previous career-high of 34 set in March of 2011 by shooting
12-of-21 from the field and 7-of-10 from the foul line. Jordan Burris added 12
points and seven rebounds for Nevada (9-4), which has won five straight games.
For Yale (4-8), Austin Morgan scored 20 points and Michael Grace put up 17
Nevada led by as many as nine in the first half, but Yale finished the frame
on an 18-9 run and the teams went into intermission tied, 36-36. The Wolf Pack
shot 54.5 percent from the field to the Bulldogs' 34.4 percent, but Yale
stayed in it by draining four 3-pointers and earning second-chance points
thanks to 10 offensive rebounds.
The teams played back-and-forth basketball for the first 10 minutes of the
second half until Nevada took the lead for good on a Marqueze Coleman layup
with 9:36 remaining. Story scored 24 of his points after the break to help
seal the win for the Wolf Pack.
Nevada won the turnover battle, 13-8, and it was able to turn Yale's miscues
into 19 points.
