Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Chris Udofia and Brett Olson both scored 15
points as the Denver Pioneers dominated the San Jose State Spartans, 73-37,
in Western Athletic Conference action at Magness Arena.
Filling up his stat line was Royce O'Neale who scored seven points, grabbed 10
rebounds and handed out five assists for the Pioneers (10-7, 6-1 WAC) as they
extended their win streak to six in a row.
The Spartans (9-8, 3-3) failed to have a single player score in double
figures, with Chris Cunningham and LaVanne Pennington both posting eight
points as they combined to shoot only 6-of-21 from the floor as they had a
two-game win streak snapped.
Denver scored the first points of the night and never looked back, hitting on
a perfect 11-of-11 at the free-throw line on the way to a 34-18 lead at the
break. SJSU was limited to only 6-of-24 shooting from the field over the first
20 minutes of action.
The Spartans improved slightly after intermission with 8-of-26 from the floor,
but at the same time Denver was rolling along with a staggering 73.9 percent
accuracy from the field.
The Pioneers finished the night hitting 56.3 percent from the floor, compared
to 28.0 percent for the visitors.
