Jacksonville, AL (Sports Network) - A goaltending call proved to make the difference for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks as they came from behind to defeat the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks, 67-65, in an Ohio Valley Conference clash at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Tarvin Gaines recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Gamecocks (16-10, 8-7 OVC). Ronnie Boggs also had a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. Darion Rackley chipped in 11 points. Brian Williams put up 10 points, including the game-winning bucket, as Jacksonville State won its fourth straight game.

For the Redhawks (14-14, 6-8), Nino Johnson recorded a double-double off the bench with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Marland Smith contributed 16 points and five boards. Corey Wilford added 15 points, and Tyler Stone put up 12 points as SEMO snapped a three-game winning streak.

In the first half, SEMO made 14-of-29 from the floor, including 7-of-13 beyond the arc. Jacksonville State was held to a mere 2-of-10 from long-range as the Redhawks took a 36-28 advantage at the break.

In the second, Jacksonville State made 13-of-32 from the floor including four 3-pointers, while the Redhawks were held to 10-of-26 shooting from the field. With the game tied at 65-65 in the waning seconds, Williams' shot was swatted away by Johnson, but SEMO was called for goaltending, which gave the Gamecocks the lead. Smith's 3-point attempt at the buzzer did not fall as Jacksonville State held on to win.

Jacksonville State scored 14 points off of 14 SEMO turnovers.
