Oxford, MS (Sports Network) - Marshall Henderson, shooting guard on the University of Mississippi men's basketball team, was suspended indefinitely by the school on Wednesday for a violation of team rules.

The school did not provide any details regarding Henderson's infractions, although CBSSports.com reports the suspension was for a failed drug test.

"Since the season ended, we have talked a lot about Marshall taking a greater leadership role with our team. With that comes greater responsibility, and he must do a better job of living up to the high standard we expect from him and he desires from himself," said Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy.

Henderson led the Southeastern Conference in scoring during his first season in Oxford in 2012-13, and was named conference tournament MVP in leading the Rebels to an NCAA Tournament berth.

However, as much as he is known for his scoring -- he averaged 20.1 points per game in leading Ole Miss to a 27-9 record -- he is just as well recognized for his polarizing personality.

Over the course of the season, Henderson baited opposing players and team student sections with his antics and was frequently in the headlines for his post-game comments.
