Tennessee unveiled their 2013-14 basketball schedule on Tuesday.
In addition to the 18-game SEC conference schedule, the Vols will take on tough non-conference opponents NC State, Xavier, Virginia and 2013 Final Four participant Wichita State.
The Vols will host 17 regular-season home games in Thompson-Boling Arena, where they averaged 17,395 fans per game last year. That marked the team's eighth straight season finishing in the top six nationally in regular-season home attendance.
Here's how UT breaks down the schedule:
A UT squad that returns 64 percent of its scoring and 73 percent of its rebounding from a season ago opens the regular season on the road at Xavier Nov. 12. It's the first time Tennessee has opened the season away from Knoxville since the 2004-05 campaign.
The Vols then return home for a three-game homestand against USC Upstate (Nov. 16), The Citadel (Nov. 18) and Tennessee State (Nov. 22).
A trip to Paradise Island, Bahamas, signals Tennessee's participation in the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament Nov. 28-30. The Vols open the event facing UTEP before then meeting up with either Iowa or Xavier. The opposite side of the bracket features Kansas, Southern California, Villanova and Wake Forest. Four of UT's five games during the month of December take place at home. The Vols host Tennessee Tech (Dec. 7), NC State (Dec. 18), Morehead State (Dec. 23) and Virginia (Dec. 30). The lone road test is a big one, as the Vols travel to face Wichita State Dec. 14. The Shockers lost to the Vols in Knoxville last season but finished the year with a flurry, advancing all the way to the Final Four.
On Jan. 4, Tennessee renews its series with Tusculum College. The Division II school located in Greeneville, Tenn., visits Thompson-Boling Arena as the programs square off in a regular-season game for the first time since 1944.
The Volunteers open their SEC slate at LSU Jan. 7, but it is one of only three road games for the Big Orange that month.
Tennessee hosts Texas A&M (Jan. 11), Auburn (Jan. 15), Arkansas (Jan. 22) and Ole Miss (Jan. 29). Other January road games take place at Kentucky (Jan. 18) and Florida (Jan. 25).
In February, UT travels to Alabama (Feb. 1) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 5) for back-to-back games before hosting consecutive home contests against South Carolina (Feb. 8) and Florida (Feb. 11).
On Feb. 15, Tennessee makes its first trip to Missouri since 1984. Georgia visits Thompson-Boling Arena Feb. 18 and UT closes out the month of February with consecutive road games at Texas A&M (Feb. 22) and Mississippi State (Feb. 26).
The March schedule features a home clash with Vanderbilt (March 1), a trip to Auburn (March 5) and a home regular-season finale against Missouri (March 8).
Atlanta's Georgia Dome is the site of the 2014 SEC Tournament, which takes place March 12-16.
