Volquest.com is reporting that Tee Martin has turned down the offer to join Butch Jones' coaching staff at UT. He will remain at the University of Southern California.
He has a street named for him on Tennessee's campus, but Tee Martin hasn't decided yet if he'll call Knoxville home again.
Martin told Volquest.com that he had a good meeting with new head coach Butch Jones, but that he intended to fly back to Los Angeles and meet with current boss Lane Kiffin before he made a decision.
"It was good to meet with coach Jones," Martin said. "It's a great opportunity to come back home, but I've not made my decision. I'm going to go back to L.A. tomorrow morning and talk with Lane and then make my decision."
Martin was the quarterback of Tennessee's 1998 BCS National Championship team, setting an SEC record for consecutive passes completed along the way.
He developed a reputation as a recruiter while an assistant coach at Kentucky before joining Lane Kiffin's staff at USC last season.
