UT fans are certainly getting more excited as we get closer to the beginning of football season. Many of them can be heard saying one of the most common phrases spoken in East Tennessee this time of the year, "GO VOLS!"

The Vols will take to the field for their first football game of the season on August 31st. It's also the team's first home game of the season. As you can imagine, excitement is brewing, with people looking forward to what comes with the hype.

"It's crowded. People are running all over the place. There's a lot of energy," said Austin Kaman.

"I guess just tailgating and going to the games. Hopefully we'll win some," said Beverly Mazza.

"I'm pretty pumped. I'm in the band so I'll be there every game playing my heart out for them," said Joshua Farmer.

New head football coach Butch Jones is the driving force behind much of the enthusiasm.

"I'm excited to have him here. I think he's going to do really well here," said Mazza.

"The other day I was actually at the UT hospital and I heard him yelling to the players. It sounds like he's getting it so I have some pretty high expectations this year," said Adam Williams.

"I'm expecting a pretty good season. At least seven wins, at least that's what I'm thinking. I'm a pretty positive person," said Farmer.
