San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Pinch-hitter Hector Sanchez hit the game-
winning single in the bottom of the 11th inning and the San Francisco Giants
defeated the Miami Marlins, 2-1, in the third game of a four-game set.
Mike Dunn (2-2) started the 11th for the Marlins, but gave up an infield
single to Gregor Blanco and was relieved by Ryan Webb. After a sacrifice bunt
by Marco Scutaro, Buster Posey hit an infield single and Hunter Pence was
intentionally walked, loading the bases.
Sanchez then delivered a blooper to left, scoring Blanco, and giving the
Giants their first victory in the series.
Sandy Rosario (2-0) allowed one hit in 1 2/3 innings of relief to pick up the
win. Starter Barry Zito pitched seven innings, giving up one run on six hits
and two walks.
