Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Andrej
Meszaros was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
For the second time in this truncated season, Meszaros injured his left
shoulder in a game against the New York Rangers.
It was sustained in the closing minutes of Tuesday's 5-2 loss.
Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said Meszaros will be out of the lineup indefinitely,
and the club has recalled defenseman Erik Gustafsson from Adirondack of the
Meszaros already missed more than a month this season with a similar injury,
also suffered against the Rangers in late January.
It has been a trying year for the 27-year-old blueliner -- who's bad luck on
the health front began with a back injury that required surgery last March,
followed by a ruptured Achilles tendon that required surgery in July and a
pair of shoulder injuries this season.
