(WBIR - Downtown Knoxville) The home of the Knoxville Ice Bears was missing its ice on Saturday but that didn't stop fans from coming out to celebrate the team's past season while getting excited for the future.
Saturday's FanFest gave children a chance to play floor hockey in the same place as the Ice Bears and also featured a bounce house and locker room tours.
Fans got their first look at next year's uniforms as the team unveiled the 2013-2014 home and away jersey. Head Coach Mike Craigen said he's always pleased to see the outpouring of support from fans during the team's off season.
"It continually amazes me how many people are still aware of the hockey season in the middle of the summer. It's 90 degrees outside but the air conditioning is going pretty good in here," Craigen said.
Starting Monday, the team will host a week-long youth hockey school at Cool Sports in Farragut. Coach Craigen and a few other players and staff will be on hand to help run the camp.
