Tennessee has added another signee for the 2010 season. Volquest.com confirmed Sunday night that Brent Brewer, a 6-foot-2, 205 pound safety committed to UT.
Brewer originally committed to Florida State University out of high school but decided to play baseball instead. Brewer was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the second round of the 2006 MLB Draft. He played in the Brewers farm system for the last four years.
Brewer talked to Volquest.com about his decision to return to the gridiron saying, "It had always been in the back of my mind, I'd always kind of wonder how things might have worked out for me in football," Brewer said. "I know it's going to be hard and I'm sure I'll have some rust, but I'm ready to come in and work hard and get into it. I'm really excited to have this chance and I'm going to make the most of it."
