Nothing says east Tennessee like beautiful landscape, good, genuine people and the Dirty Guv'nahs. The rock n' roll band reigns from Knoxville and sings its praises.
Look at them now. Talented, polished, the perfect rock n' roll band.
"We are American rock n roll. That's the only band currently on iTunes in the genre of music that you can find under American rock n roll," said Justin Hoskins, bass player for the Dirty Guv'nahs.
But they weren't always so popular. In fact, Aaron, Cozmo, James, Justin, Chris and Michael, The Dirty Guv'nah's, don't even have a music background. One of the guys was friends with a promoter and said he had band. Then he had to come up with one!
"Had about 10 days to come up with 40 minutes of music so we wrote some songs, learned some covers. Did it thinking this is a once type thing," said James Trimble, lead singer.
He was wrong. Fans started showing up, selling out venues like Preservation Pub, Barley's, and The Square Room. Now, they're playing the Bijou Theatre on September 24. Tickets are still available.
